Samantha Mohr
Mohr was an UGA student who suggested her to participate in her in the Miss Columbus 1985 pageant, won it. Mohr became eligible to take part in her first Miss Georgia pageant, which took place June 1985. Mohr was the winner of the contest on Saturday, June 22, 1985. Her earnings were more than $3,500 in cash scholarships as well as other prizes at the state pageant. The activities she took part in as Miss Georgia included appearances in public areas throughout Georgia. Mohr was Georgia's representative at the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 15, 1985. In computer modeling that successfully identified the likelihood that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were calculated at 22: 1. Mohr was not a Top-10 finalist in the race for the crown. Mohr's reign as Miss Georgia lasted until she named her successor, Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th in 1986.
